What is this thing?
33 Whiskeys is a tasting guide designed to help you capture and remember your whiskey tasting experiences, good and bad. 33 Whiskeys is meant to be used in whatever way seems appropriate to you. We’ve intentionally designed the pages to allow for flexibility, so you can use it to sample scotch, rye, corn or any other kind of whiskey.

How's the Flavor Wheel work?
The tasting wheel is a list of flavors that may (or may not) exist, in varying degrees, in the whiskey you're drinking. Rate the whiskey by filling in the dots for flavors you pick up on. Mark near the center of the wheel for low presence, and towards the outside when a particular characteristic shines through. Be sure to savor the experience, and notice that whiskeys can transform as they change temperature, or with the addition of a bit of pure water. A Kentucky bourbon is used in the example shown.

How big is it?
33 Whiskeys is pocket-sized. It's just 3.5 inches wide by 5 inches tall, about the size of an index card, and at about 1/8" thick, it's 25% thinner than an iPhone. Take that, Steve Jobs! A book fits perfectly in the pocket of a pair of jeans.
Is this thing water ... er ... whiskey-proof?
Sadly, no. It is printed on really nice recycled paper with hand-set type printed with American-grown and -made soy ink, though. And, don't tell anyone, but there's actually a little bit of Kentucky white dog in the ink. A finer notebook has never been spilled on or in.
Do you do wholesale?
But of course. Send wholesale inquiries to .
Who came up with this crazy idea?
33 Whiskeys is the latest in a series of tasting books developed by Dave Selden, a graphic designer by day, and fulfillment whiz by night.
I am a fan of social media, and your product.
That is not a question, but we would be delighted if you became a fan of 33 Whiskeys on Facebook.
Do you have any other notebooks?
Yep, you can find our one-of-a-kind beer journals here, and the wine journals are over in aisle ... er ... that other website. There are also cigar journals and cheese journals to be had over on the "buy" page.
